Certificate in Advanced Paralegal Studies

Bay Path College

The certificate of advanced paralegal studies, which is approved by the American Bar Association, is appropriate for students who have previously received an associate or baccalaureate degree or who have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of college courses. Students majoring in any other program can receive a Certificate of Advanced Paralegal Studies by completing the 21 credits.

Advanced Paralegal Studies Requirements – 18 Credits:
LAW 103 Introduction to the American Legal System
LAW 232 Principles of Litigation
LAW 240 Legal Research and Writing
LAW 241 Computer Assisted Legal Research
LAW 246 Tort Law
LAW 260 Real Estate Law

Legal Specialty Elective:

LAW Legal Internship or Legal Specialty Elective* 

* Students must discuss legal specialty elective with the department chair
