Digital Forensics or Information Assurance

In this age of technology, there has never been a greater demand for professionals that have the skills and knowledge to lead the battle against cybercriminals. Our BS in CyberSecurity degree program offers two majors, Digital Forensics and Information Assurance which will prepare you for a stimulating career as defenders of critical infrastructure. At its core this program is a hybrid blend of criminal justice, business, and cybersecurity courses, providing the foundational information necessary to have comprehensive knowledge of the challenges within the industry.



Digital Forensics Major:

Digital forensics is a new and growing field in the area of hi-tech crime investigation. In this program, you will learn how criminal justice, business, computer science and forensics work together to help you solve cybercrimes, as well as protect information networks.

If you like solving problems and puzzles and want to be on the front lines fighting the new wave of computer crime, than digital forensics is the area for you. From hand held devices to tablets to computers, you will develop hands-on expertise to work in a variety of platforms. You will also learn the importance of process: of collecting, preserving the integrity, and analyzing data that can be used in evidence.

  • Law enforcement
  • Government intelligence services
  • Banking and finance

Information Assurance Major:

The Information Assurance major has been designed to provide you with the level of expertise and techniques needed in protecting critical information networks that are at the heart of operations from government to private companies and organizations. 

Drawing upon a variety of other disciplines, such as criminal justice, business, forensics and legal studies, and combined with courses in computer science, information technology, and network administration and programming, you will be skilled to be on the forefront in solving and tracking such cybercrimes as hacking and data manipulation.
