Bay Path University nursing programs are for students who plan to obtain initial RN licensure and for students who already hold a registered nurse (RN) license.

Pre-licensure Programs

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)

Please be advised that to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse (RN), a graduate or student who has completed the competencies to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN®) must apply to take the national licensure examination for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN®) and apply for licensure in the state where the graduate wants to work as a professional registered nurse. A graduate is required to pass the NCLEX-RN® before state licensure can be granted.

Information on how to apply for a Nursing License by Exam in Massachusetts can be found on the Mass.gov website. 

Those students who wish to practice outside of Massachusetts should contact the State Board of Registration in Nursing for the state where they reside for further information and requirements for licensure (see NCSBN Licensure Information).

At this time, the BPU Associate of Science in Nursing program meets the requirements for licensure in all US states except Alabama, Alaska, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire,  Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Wisconsin. Please contact your local state licensing board to learn more about the licensure requirements in your state of residence. 

Graduates of the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) at Bay Path University will meet the academic requirements to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam for RNs (NCLEX-RN®). This test is offered by Pearson Vue, the organization that administers the NCLEX-RN exam for the National Council State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).

Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DE MSN)
