Lorie Banks

Lorie Banks is a career educator in Holyoke Public schools. She holds a Master’s Degrees in both TESOL and Math Education. Professor Banks has an extensive knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for Mathematics, not only from having been a math teacher for 22 years, but also with the work she has done with curriculum development at the district level.

In addition to mentoring, she was involved with creating and leading professional learning communities both face to face and within an online virtual practice, and leadership development by taking practices and presenting them local and national conferences. She also has extensive experience leading professional development on a variety of topics including ELL strategies, math content, classroom management strategies, and incorporating literacy standards in a math class. Professor Banks looks forward to working with those who are embarking on their own paths in education in a forum that is collaborative and where everyone can share best practices.
