Cathy Anusauskas has been a Middle School Math Teacher for 24 years and is currently working for the Hopkinton Public School system. She has been the Math Curriculum Teacher Leader for the past 9 years. She has been a mentor and works extensively with the Massachusetts Mathematics Curriculum Frameworks.

She has been on several committees and has taught courses for the Department of Secondary and Elementary Education including; Math ADC (Assessment Development Committee) for grades 6 and 7 which allows teachers to review data and make recommendations for MCAS questions Math Ambassador which gave her the opportunity to create rich math tasks that have been published at the DESE website Standard Setting Committee which allowed her to have input into setting the cut off scores for the grade 6 MCAS for the 2011 Standards Developing Algebraic Thinking for grades 4-10 teacher which was sponsored by the DESE.

Cathy has been teaching the MAT 161, 152, 163 one day a week courses for the American Women’s College since 2016. She has also taught MAT 104 and MAT 112.

In addition, Cathy has led professional development and is SEI endorsed. Cathy is passionate about working with adults who are working towards their degree in Elementary Education.

She helps prospective teachers learn how to use manipulatives in the classroom, helps them understand the work produced by their own students to further the child’s understanding of the math they are learning, and uses multiple strategies to teach concepts in order to reach all types of learners.
