Suzanne Strempek Shea is Bay Path University writer-in-residence, facilitator of the MFA in Creative Nonfiction's summer seminar in Ireland, and author of 11 books including the cancer memoir, Songs from a Lead-Lined Room.  Erin Murphy is the author of seven books of poetry and has served as the Medical Humanities Discussion Group facilitator for UPMC Hospital in Altoona. Dinty W. Moore is editor of the literary magazine Brevity, guest instructor for the Ireland seminar (2017 and 2018), and author and editor of numerous books including, with co-editor Erin Murphy, the recent anthology Bodies of Truth: Personal Narratives on Illness, Disability, and Medicine.  
 
The authors will discuss Moore's and Murphy's new book, the process of writing about illness and the healing potential inherent in telling your story, and the growing interest in personal narratives about illness and disability.
