Makena Stewart, EdD, is a passionate higher education leader dedicated to supporting organizations in fulfilling their educational missions. Her leadership experience in university and community college settings includes the roles of Dean of Student Development, Associate Vice President of Student Success, and graduate education faculty. In her current role of Vice President of Strategic Excellence, Dr. Stewart leverages systems thinking, data science, and applied research skill sets to enact large-scale change for institutional and student success. Her interest is in creating sustainable, transformative change through the planning, design, and program evaluation of postsecondary, faith-based, and community-based educational initiatives. Dr. Stewart holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia, a Masters of Science in Counseling from Old Dominion University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
