Joanne Landers, PhD

Dr. Joanne Landers has more than 20 years of experience in higher education leadership. Most recently, Dr. Landers served as Vice President of Enrollment Management at Saint Elizabeth University in Morristown, New Jersey. As Vice President, she had oversight of Admissions and Financial Aid for all domestic and international undergraduates, adult learners, and graduate programs; co-chaired the Enrollment and Retention Taskforce; implemented a new CRM; collaborated with the University’s Director of Communications and Marketing to develop and execute strategic digital and print recruitment campaigns; and was a member of the President’s Cabinet.

Dr. Landers’ also served as Vice President for Enrollment Services at Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens, Tennessee, where she created and implemented a strategic enrollment plan for first-year and transfer students recruited in-state and nationally. And as Director of Admissions at Armstrong State University, a public research university in Savannah, Georgia, she reduced processing time from four months to five days for first-time student applications and 10 business days for transfer applicants, resulting in increased internal efficiency and recruitment.

Dr. Landers holds a Ph.D. in Education with a Specialization in Leadership in Higher Education from Capella University, where her dissertation title was The Success and Persistence of African American Female College Students. She also earned a master’s degree in higher education administration from The University of Akron and a bachelor's degree in political science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She has an Enrollment Management Certificate from Ruffalo Noel-Levitz.
