Student-Athletes Receive NECC Honors

Senior forward Jessica Hunt of Madison, CT, and freshman guard Brittney Alexander of Enfield, CT, were recognized for outstanding play in basketball by the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) for their performances during the week of November 15. Jessica was named Player of the Week, and Brittney was selected as the Rookie of the Week.
During the season opener against Pine Manor College, Jessica authored game high boards and a double-double in the 73-62 victory. She tallied 19 points and 16 rebounds along with five steals, two assists and one block. Jessica also shot 38 percent from the field and 75 percent from the line.
Brittney has been averaging 21 points and eight rebounds per game, and led the Wildcats to the season opener win over Pine Manor. For the first 36 minutes of collegiate play, she topped all scorers, while running the offense and chipping in four assists and one steal. Brittney shot 46 percent from the floor, 67 percent from the three-point line, and 70 percent from the free-throw line.
Bay Path will visit Albertus Magnus College on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at 6 p.m.
