Sleep Disorders Presentation, by Dr. Asim Roy, Offered at the College.

LONGMEADOW, MASS. – As part of its Kaleidoscope Series, Bay Path College will host Dr. Asim Roy, a local physician specializing in sleep disorders, in a program entitled “Why Can’t I Sleep? Sleep Disorders Unique to Women.” The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Wednesday, February 6 at 7:00 p.m. in Breck Suite, Wright Hall on the Longmeadow campus.

Studies have shown that women are twice as likely as men to have difficulties falling asleep and staying asleep. A number of factors may affect women’s sleep, including changes in hormone levels, stress, and illness. In addition, lifestyle and sleep environment all impact sleep and sleep quality. Dr. Roy, a neurologist and sleep disorders specialist with Baystate Neurology in Springfield, will discuss sleep disorders unique to women, and introduce strategies for a better night’s rest.
