Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing Admissions Requirements

Now Accepting Applications for the Fall 2026 Start

The following steps are required to complete the application process for Bay Path University’s Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DE MSN):

Step 1: Apply to Bay Path University
The Fall 2026 Direct Entry MSN admissions application opens January 26, 2026, and closes June 16, 2026. Applications are reviewed as they become complete and conditional admission decisions are typically released within 5–7 business days after all required materials have been received.

Step 2: Complete the Direct Entry MSN Nursing Program Application
Applicants who are conditionally admitted to Bay Path University will receive a separate Direct Entry MSN Nursing Program application included with their conditional admission email. This nursing application must be completed by June 30, 2026. Final admission decisions for Fall 2026 will be released on August 1, 2026.

Application deadlines: June 30th for the fall start and December 1st for the spring start.


For consideration, applicants must submit the following to the Office of Graduate Admissions:

Bay Path University:

  1. A completed application - Apply Now
  2. Official high school or GED transcripts
  3. Official undergraduate and graduate transcripts (a GPA of 3.0 or high is preferred)
    Official transcripts must be sent directly to Bay Path's Graduate Admissions Office from the issuing institution's records office either by mail or through a secure electronic transcript service (such as Parchment or National Clearinghouse). For transcripts sent through a secure transcript service, please select Bay Path University from the vendor's dropdown list to ensure the transcript is routed to the correct place. If an email address is requested, you can route to graduate@baypath.edu. Transcripts sent from the student are unofficial and will not be accepted.
  4. An original essay of 250 words on the topic "Why the Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program is important to my personal and professional goals."
  5. A current resume.
  6. Two professional recommendations- Download the recommendation form here.

DE MSN Program:

  1. A completed application and additional requirements - to be shared via email once conditionally accepted to BPU, including:
    1. NCSBN functional abilities essential for nursing practice
    2. Clinical agency requirements (background checks, drug testing, vaccinations, etc.) as required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) and other requirements as listed in the DE MSN Clinical Placement Policy

Applicants may be asked to interview via phone or in person at the program director's discretion.

All documentation, including official transcripts, must be mailed directly to Bay Path University's Office of Graduate Admissions:
