Longmeadow, MA—Bay Path University is the safest college in Massachusetts and the second safest in America, according to a recent list compiled by Niche.com, which reviewed 1,400 schools and ranked the safest campuses in America for 2023.
According to Niche.com, the 2023 Safest College Campuses ranking is based on key statistics and student reviews using the U.S. Department of Education data. The site states that these top-ranked colleges offer a safe and healthy environment with little or no campus crime, drugs, or alcohol usage. Specific factors considered include campus crime rate; local crime grade; student surveys on safety; residence hall date violence rate; residence hall rape rate; alcohol-related arrests; and drug-related arrests.
"We continue to prioritize campus safety,” said Michael Giampietro, senior vice president for finance and administrative services vice president for finance & administrative services. “Our on-campus population is quite small, so faculty, staff, and students really know each other, and we all take responsibility for each other. That contributes to Bay Path’s culture.”
“From a facilities perspective, our main campus in Longmeadow and the Philip H. Ryan Center in East Longmeadow are well-lit and equipped with emergency call boxes and security cameras. Our public safety staff performs routine patrols of our facilities 24/7, and we maintain a good relationship with the local fire and police departments.”
In response to COVID-19, Bay Path implemented additional safety measures, articulated in The Path Forward, which represents the University’s commitment to the health and safety of its students, faculty, and staff.
Mission-driven, Bay Path is continually developing career-focused programs, filling a need for educated and trained professionals in our communities, regions, and beyond. More information about Bay Path University and its degree programs can be found by visiting our website.
