Sometimes a single experience can lead to an extraordinary journey.

For Sabria Brown G'27, that moment came in 2017 when she visited Bay Path University as part of a college exploration program through Girls Inc. of the Valley. Growing up in Springfield, Massachusetts, Sabria was an active participant in Girls Inc., an organization dedicated to empowering young women to be strong, smart, and bold.

The visit left a lasting impression. "I never forgot that tour," she recalls. "It opened my eyes to what college could look like and helped me envision a future for myself."

Nearly a decade later, that vision has come full circle.

Today, Sabria is pursuing her Master of Science in Applied Data Science at Bay Path University, where she is combining her passion for problem-solving, technology, and organizational systems to create innovative solutions that help businesses make smarter decisions.

A Journey Fueled by Curiosity

After graduating from MacDuffie School in Granby, Massachusetts, Sabria earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Berkeley College in White Plains, New York, graduating in 2022.

Following graduation, Sabria joined MGM Springfield, where she worked for three years as a Workforce Management Specialist. In that role, she supported approximately 1,500 hourly employees, overseeing compliance, workforce operations, and scheduling systems in a fast-paced environment.

The experience sharpened her understanding of how organizations function—and revealed opportunities for improvement. "I became curious and fascinated by how systems work, how decisions get made, and how organizations can better understand what's happening beneath the surface," she explains.

That curiosity ultimately led her to data science.

Building the Future Through Data and AI

In October 2025, Sabria enrolled in Bay Path's Applied Data Science program with one simple goal: learn something completely new. What she discovered was a field that perfectly aligned with her interests.

Today, she is an independent consultant helping organizations improve operational clarity, preserve institutional knowledge, and create more transparent decision-making systems. Her work focuses on making complex organizational processes easier to understand and evaluate.

One of her most notable achievements has been developing a patent-pending framework designed to preserve, trace, and evaluate how decisions, relationships, and outcomes unfold within complex systems over time. Originally developed through her independent research, the framework serves as the foundation for her consulting work and an implementation-focused graduate capstone project that demonstrates how its concepts can be operationalized through software.

Her expertise is already attracting attention beyond her own projects. Earlier this year, she was invited to collaborate with faculty at Bentley University, where she contributes to the development of graduate-level instructional materials focused on analytics, data, artificial intelligence, and systems thinking. Working from faculty-directed course objectives, she helps translate complex concepts into applied learning experiences and educational content designed to support student engagement and decision-making. She is also preparing to participate as a guest lecturer, sharing insights on data, systems thinking, and emerging technologies.

Finding Community in an Online Classroom

As a fully online student, Sabria balances coursework with consulting projects, professional engagements, and entrepreneurial pursuits. Despite her demanding schedule, she has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while progressing steadily toward her degree.

She credits Bay Path's flexible learning environment and supportive faculty for helping her succeed. "The program has allowed me to challenge myself academically while continuing to pursue meaningful professional work," she says.

She particularly values the interactive Zoom sessions and discussion boards that create opportunities for students to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. "It's an online program, but you never feel like you're learning alone."

Giving Back While Moving Forward

Sabria's connection to Girls Inc. remains an important part of her story.

After participating in the organization as a student from 2014 through 2018, she returned as a program facilitator and now consults on curriculum design and organizational initiatives. The organization that once introduced her to higher education continues to be part of her professional and personal journey.

That commitment to helping others navigate opportunities mirrors her broader mission: using data, technology, and thoughtful systems design to create lasting impact.

What's Next?

Sabria expects to complete her master's degree in August 2026, but she sees that milestone as only the beginning.

Her long-term goals include expanding her consulting practice, establishing her own LLC, and pursuing doctoral research focused on preserving, evaluating, and reconstructing complex system interactions across time.

Whether she is analyzing data, developing AI-driven solutions, speaking publicly, or mentoring others, Sabria is driven by a belief that information should empower people to make better decisions.
