This month, the Bay Path campus welcomed our first students as our 11 Academic Learners and Leaders Initiative (ALLI) students moved in for three and a half weeks of learning and residential life living to kick off their college experience. While the students are here to sharpen their math and writing skills before classes officially begin next month, their three-week residency is filled with a lot of fun, too. In between getting to know the Bay Path campus and taking classes in writing, math, communications, wellness, intercultural studies, and college foundations, students spent time participating in movie nights,  a scavenger hunt, working together to get out of an Escape Room, creating tie-dye masterpieces, and a s’mores campfire with President Doran and Bay Path’s First Dog, Gracie.

Currently in their third week on campus, ALLI students are also getting a head start on the professional skills that are an integral part of a Bay Path education with resume and career workshops. Next week they’ll wrap up their time with the ALLI program with a writing presentation and volunteering at a local food bank.

With many of these students attending college after a year or more of remote learning, ALLI is a great way to not only freshen up academic skills but to also get acclimated with living on a college campus before classes begin in early September.
