Applied Data Science

Graduate Admissions Requirements

Enrolling Now, Classes Begin February 26, 2018

Prospective students may apply for admission to the MS in Applied Data Science throughout the year. Each candidate will be reviewed by the Graduate Faculty Committee to determine the right course of study for each applicant.

To give prospective students the opportunity to build their confidence in their ability to handle the math required in data science assignments we offer a Free Calculus Prep Course

Program Prerequisites

For seasoned business analysts:
  1. Proven ability in data analysis through work projects
  2. Confidence in ability to rise to math and statistics challenges
For recent graduates:
  1. Calculus 1 and 2
  2. One course in statistics
  3. Computing experience, a plus

For consideration, applicants must submit the following documents to the Office of Graduate Admissions:

  1. A completed application - Apply Now (Application fee is waived if you apply online)
  2. An original essay of at least 250 words on the topic “Why the MS in Applied Data Science is important to me, my career, and professional goals?”
  3. Undergraduate and graduate transcripts (GPA 3.0 or greater). For applicants without field experience in data analytics, an undergraduate major or degree in a quantitative discipline is required (e.g., math, statistics, economics, computer science, etc.)
  4. A current resume
