Three Business Leaders Appointed to Bay Path University Board of Trustees

Longmeadow, MA— Three new members have been elected to the Bay Path University Board of Trustees. Pia Sareen Kumar, co-owner and chief strategy officer of Universal Plastics Group; Rodger K. Metzger, CFA, president, and chief investment officer of Hooker & Holcombe; and Jeanette Weldon, managing director of Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority, will each serve a three-year term.

Pia Sareen Kumar

Pia Sareen Kumar is the co-owner and chief strategy officer for Universal Plastics Group. A graduate of Northwestern University with a bachelor of arts in economics and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with an MBA, she previously worked at JPMorgan Chase and American Express, leading business development initiatives and managing strategic partnerships. A resident of Longmeadow, MA, Kumar is deeply committed to her family and her local community, and serves on the boards of Associated Industries of Massachusetts, Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts, and the Springfield Technical Community College Foundation. She is also a member of the Women President’s Organization and is a reader and school sponsor with Link to Libraries.

Rodger K. Metzger CFA

As president and chief investment officer of Hooker & Holcombe’s Investment Advisory Group in Bloomfield, CT, Rodger K. Metzger serves as the client relationship consultant for the group’s largest and most sophisticated clients. He is also responsible for directing the asset allocation and fund research efforts and is the chairman of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining the firm, he was with Hartford Investment Management Company, a subsidiary of Hartford Financial Services Corporation (HIG). Metzger earned a bachelor of arts in economics from St. Lawrence University and an MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Hartford. He serves as an Advisory Council member for Legg Mason Client Solutions, in addition to memberships with the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Hartford. Metzger is a resident of West Simsbury, CT, and devotes his time as a consultant and board member for various organizations in Connecticut.

Jeanette Weldon

Jeanette Weldon, managing director for Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA), is a public finance professional who has been involved as either issuer or financial advisor on over $10 billion of transactions for state and local governments and their issuing authorities. She previously served as the CFO at Windham Hospital, and as senior managing director for P.G. Corbin & Company. Weldon earned a bachelor of arts from Harvard University and an MBA from Columbia University. She is a South Windham, CT resident, and currently serves on the boards of the Connecticut Higher Education Supplemental Loan Authority and Northeast Women in Public Finance.
