Longmeadow, MA—Bay Path University is the safest college in Massachusetts and the second safest in America, according to a recent list compiled by Niche.com, which reviewed 1,400 schools and ranked the safest campuses in America for 2022.

According to Niche.com, the 2022 Safest College Campuses ranking is based on key statistics and student reviews using the U.S. Department of Education data. The site states that these top-ranked colleges offer a safe and healthy environment with little or no campus crime, drugs, or alcohol usage. Specific factors considered include campus crime rate; local crime grade; student surveys on safety; residence hall date violence rate; residence hall rape rate; alcohol-related arrests; and drug-related arrests.

"Campus safety is a top priority,” said Michael Giampietro, vice president for finance & administrative services. “Our campus locations are well-lit and include emergency call boxes and security cameras. Our public safety staff performs routine patrols of our facilities 24/7. And, because of our small, on-campus population, faculty, staff, and students know each other. We're also fortunate that our main location is in the very safe town of Longmeadow, where we work to maintain a good relationship with the local fire and police departments.”

Over the past year and a half, Bay Path has implemented additional safety measures in response to COVID-19. The Path Forward represents the University’s commitment to the health and safety of its students, faculty, and staff. It is guided by the ongoing monitoring of public health metrics, as well as state and community guidelines, and is overseen by the University’s COVID Task Force. Bay Path requires all faculty, staff, and students to be vaccinated against COVID-19, and the University has welcomed students back to campus with social distancing and masking guidelines, testing protocols, and routine symptom reporting in place.

Mission-driven, Bay Path is continually developing career-focused programs,
filling a need for educated and trained professionals in our communities, regions, and
beyond. More information about Bay Path University and its degree programs can be found by visiting our website.
