It has become a tradition at Bay Path to celebrate the recipient of the annual Carpe Diem Award at the Marcia Conrad Awards.  It is presented annually to a graduating student from The American Women’s College.  The recipient is an exemplary student who has demonstrated academic excellence by earning a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and above and embodies the mission of Bay Path University.

For 2024, the Carpe Diem Award was given to Rosaly Negron.  She is graduating with a BS in Business Administration and plans to enroll in Bay Path's MBA program. A mother of two children, she resides in Springfield, MA.

Here is the citation as read by President Doran at the Marcia Conrad Awards…

“Beginning with her very first class as a learner, Rosaly charted a course, both in and out of the classroom, with tenacity, resilience, unwavering determination, and openness to ideas.  During her time at Bay Path, she balanced work, family, and education, while making the most of her academic experience.  Even with this incredibly busy life, Rosaly made the Dean’s List from 2021 to 2023, was inducted into the Maroon Key Honor Society, and was a peer mentor. Incredible!

And Rosaly also discovered another quality about herself at Bay Path: Rosaly found her voice. She became a leader.   In her words, “Finding my voice had been something I knew I wanted to conquer.  I was in my second semester at Bay Path when I received a leadership role promotion at work…a year and a half later I was promoted to another leadership role.  My professional development has been directly connected and is a result of my Bay Path education.”

Today, Rosaly is a leader in her workplace and a role model for her family.  She has become, again in her words, “A leader that does not stopping questions, who is willing to adapt, and who understands and respects the level of social responsibility that comes with leading.”   And, thanks to Bay Path, Rosaly has become a dedicated lifelong learner.

Rosaly, you remind all of us that with passion, perseverance, and purpose, the sky is not the limit – your Bay Path education is just the beginning of a wondrous journey of discovery and achievement.  Congratulations!”
