Dr. Shanti Lipscomb-Jones, Ph.D., LPC-A, CMHC is a counselor educator, mental health professional, and adjunct faculty member with experience in clinical practice, higher education, and trauma-informed education. She is passionate about supporting student growth through compassionate teaching, mentorship, and the integration of evidence-based practices into the learning environment.

Dr. Lipscomb-Jones has clinical experience providing counseling services to diverse populations, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed approaches, and strengths-based interventions. Her areas of professional interest include trauma, resilience, multicultural counseling, psychological assessment, and counselor wellness.

She earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, with research focused on the lived experiences and coping strategies of African American women professional counselors who were mothers during the COVID-19 pandemic and a period of increased awareness of systemic challenges. Her research and teaching reflect her commitment to advancing culturally responsive mental health practices and preparing future professionals in the helping fields.

Dr. Lipscomb-Jones is dedicated to creating an inclusive and engaging educational experience where students feel supported, challenged, and empowered to become ethical and effective professionals. When she is not teaching or providing clinical services, she enjoys spending quality time with her children and husband, cooking, and traveling, creating meaningful experiences and memories with her family.
