Raymond U. Ogums has worked for a number of institutional asset management firms, including Babson Capital Management, LLC, Fleet Bank Boston, MA, Shawmut National Corporation Hartford, CT, Bank of New England. Over the years, he has worked as a portfolio analyst, an investment portfolio manager, a hedge/risk management instruments (or derivatives) manager, a consultant to derivatives valuation and pricing, and a business-to-systems liaison. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Colleges local to the Springfield Massachusetts area, including American International College, Western New England University, and Bay Path University, teaching several Business Intelligent courses; Managerial Economics; Advanced Managerial Finance; Managerial Statistics; Investments; Risk Management; Quantitative Methods in Business; and Issues in Business Ethics. His studies have concentrated in the fields of Financial Economics and Risk Management, and he earned a D.B.A. from University of Phoenix, where his research focused on both the changing proportion of working retirees and the mix of factors that cause retirees to work. He earned an MBA from Western New England University, and graduated a Business-Economics Major at the University of New Haven. Dr. Ogums also follows global economic and financial news, and works on finance and investment researches for publication in the academic journals.
