Kimberly Bell, BA, MA

Kimberly holds a BA from Converse College in Comprehensive Special Education and an M.A. in Reading from Furman University.

Kimberly serves the Bay Path University students as the Orton-Gillingham Fellow of the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA). In addition to conducting OGA coursework and practicum work, she mentors her students through the certification process for membership in the Orton-Gillingham Academy.

Kimberly has worked with students with dyslexia and language disabilities for over 40 years in both public schools and as a private OG therapist. During her career in public, she served special education students in both the self-contained and resource settings in South Carolina and North Carolina.  During the majority of her years in special education, she worked with students who presented with severe language learning difficulties. Kim has a private OG therapist practice, Reading & Writing Essentials, LLC.

Kimberly is a member of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and served on the North Carolina International Dyslexia Association board for many years. Throughout her career, she has presented at various professional conferences.
