Nafie Saba-Shapazian, RN, of Worcester County, known for developing innovative solutions to drive improvements in revenue, market presence, and patient care, has been named Director of Healthcare Recruitment for The American Women’s College at Bay Path University.

In this new role, Saba-Shapazian will apply her extensive healthcare experience and passion for the field to the recruitment of qualified students into the University’s 100% online healthcare degree programs, including Health Services Administration, Community Health, and fully-accredited by CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) RN to BSN program. These accelerated programs provide the needed flexibility for students who are often juggling demanding careers and family responsibilities to earn a bachelor’s degree around their own schedule, typically in 18 months or less.

Prior to joining the University staff, Saba-Shapazian served as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Critical Systems, Inc. During her five-year tenure, she led the large multi-site organization which provides emergency care and transportation to patients across the state of Massachusetts. Previously, she was Director of Clinical Services for the Health Center at The Willows of Worcester. In that role, Saba-Shapazian implemented marketing, community outreach, and networking programs, resulting in an increase in patient census from 37% to 100% in just five months.

Saba-Shapazian has also held such positions as Administrator and Nursing Executive Director for Dodge Park Rest Home; National Executive Director of Enrollment Services and Director of Nationwide Operations at QMed, Inc.; and private clinical consultant with Philips Corporation.

A graduate of the Worcester Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing. Saba-Shapazian serves on the Board of Directors of Alternatives, Inc. and the Gardner Visiting Nurse Professional Advisory Committee. She is a past member of the Executive Board of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Heart Association and is a member of The Caregivers Association, NCOA, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP).
