2nd Annual On the Move Forum

Thursday, March 8, 2018
5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
CityStage One Columbus Center
150 Bridge Street, Springfield, MA 01103

Organized by Bay Path University, the On the Move Forum will explore the timeline of women’s history and the women’s rights movement, sparking community conversation about gaps in that history, including the contributions of underrepresented groups of women from western Massachusetts.

The forum will use history, literature and philosophy to engage the audience in exploring the status of women regarding race, ethnicity, culture, age, sexual orientation, and pathways for advancement and the progress that has been made since 1977, date of the first federally-funded women’s conference. The forum will engage participants in discovering how the women’s rights movement and the civil rights movement interface, deepening understanding of past and current social, political and economic issues as they pertain to women.
