Mission & Program Outcomes

Preparing self-aware, reflective professionals with the capacity and mindset to lead as entrepreneurial change agents equipped to bring transformational thinking and management processes to their roles within higher education.


Upon completion of the program, graduates of the EdD in Higher Education Leadership & Organizational Studies will be able to:  

  1. Identify and address critical and contemporary issues in educational policy and practice through understanding colleges and universities as complex enterprises
  2. Manage and lead higher education institutions through addressing and mitigating conflict and challenges as transformational leaders
  3. Integrate principles of administration and management with organizational capability and viability
  4. Become self-reflective, visionary, and entrepreneurial leaders who will bring change management processes to the forefront of the industry
  5. Leverage technology and institutional resources to achieve strategic goals and priorities Build a sense of community, enhanced motivation, risk-taking, creativity, flexibility, and innovation in higher education institutions
  6. Demonstrate high-level analytic thinking, advanced research design, and problem-solving skills to implement organizational change and serve as catalysts to improve local practices
  7. Write an action-research dissertation of publishable quality
