Shirley was born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts and currently lives in East Longmeadow with her 4 year old son Anthony.

She moved in 1997 to Gainesville, Florida and obtained her Associates degree in Psychology at Santa Fe Community College. Upon returning to western Massachusetts in 2001, she continued her education at Westfield State University and earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology.

Shirley worked in human services as well as sales and marketing until making the decision in 2010 to continue her education at Cambridge College. There she earned a Masters degree in Education and became a Licensed School Guidance Counselor.

After briefly working as the Director of Career Services for a proprietary school, Shirley was given the opportunity in 2014 to work at Bay Path University as the Educator Coach for adult women students of The One Day A Week College and The American Women's College. She considers the position to be an honor and one that is truly fulfilling her passion to help others realize their educational and career goals.
