Shannon Widderick joined the Bay Path University’s Physician Assistant program as the Director of Didactic Education in August of 2015. Professor Widderick coordinates the didactic year curriculum; integrating therapeutics, clinical medicine, patient assessment, and clinical skills throughout the academic year, as well as teaching in clinical medicine.  Her areas of interest are educational technology integration, active learning promotion, and struggling learner remediation.

Shannon Widderick graduated from Springfield College in 2007 with a Master’s Degree in Science and Physician Assistant studies. Her clinical career includes experience in trauma surgery, hospital medicine, and geriatric care.

 Prior to joining the PA program at Bay Path University, Professor Widderick worked clinically in the field of Integrative Medicine. In her clinical practice, Shannon strove to empower patients to find strength and self-healing through fostering a collaborative relationship between provider and patient. In her academic role, she holds to this ethos and endeavors to impart the importance of person centered care in the education of each physician assistant student.
