Update to Student Guest Policy - Effective 10/1/21

September 23, 2021

Dear Students,

Last month we decided to postpone allowing outside guests into the residence halls until October 1, 2021.  So far, you have all done a great job in keeping each other safe, and we have not experienced a breakout of COVID-19. However, the Delta variant continues to be of some concern.  Consequently, we have decided to permit only Bay Path University commuting students who are vaccinated as guests in the residence halls as of October, 1st.  We will revisit this decision again later in the semester.

As before, we do ask that you continue to remain masked if you are in any community spaces outside of your hallway.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Guest/Visitor Policy - The guest policy will go into effect on October 1, 2021.

Only Bay Path commuter students who are vaccinated are permitted in the residence halls. Students with an approved medical or religious waiver will not be permitted to enter the residence halls.

Guests who are not vaccinated will not be permitted in the residence halls.

The guest policy for the fall of 2021 will allow for external guests (defined as a vaccinated commuter student who is not a Bay Path University residential student) to be permitted within the residence halls. Resident students will be required to submit a ‘request a guest’ form 48 hours in advance of the arrival of their guests.

The “request for guest” form will be reviewed by the residential life professional staff. You will receive an email to your BPU email address with the result. All approved guests must check-in and out with either CPS and/or desk attendants upon arrival or departure from campus.

Approved guests must also follow these guidelines:

  • Provide proof of vaccination;
  • Be over the age of 14 years old;
  • And provide a valid photo ID and telephone number at their time of arrival.

Any residential student who brings a guest to campus without following this policy will not be permitted to have their guest enter the residence halls. Failure to comply with the policy will result in the host resident being referred to the Student Conduct system within the Dean of Students office.
