Stacy Sweeney, EdD
Interim Vice President of Academic Administration
As a transformational leader, Stacy Sweeney has dedicated her career to improving
higher education outcomes by serving at the executive level at various institutions. Most recently, as a higher education consultant and as acting board chair for Les Roches Global Hospitality Education, Stacy has advised institutional leaders on a number of topics impacting growth, sustainability and accreditation.
Stacy’s previous roles include President of Bay State College in Boston, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), in addition to executive-level positions at DeVry University and The Art Institutes, where she led successful turnarounds and start-ups. At SNHU, Stacy was directly involved in servicing every college: traditional campus-based, online education, and competency based. During her tenure as CAO, Stacy successfully built infrastructure in various university services departments supporting SNHU’s exponential growth and innovative culture. Stacy has been recognized for developing leaders at all levels of an organization.
Additionally, Stacy has served as a Commissioner for the New England Commission on Higher Education (NECHE formerly CIHE/NEASC) and as team chair for multiple NECHE evaluation visits
Stacy earned her Doctorate in Higher Education Management (Ed.D.) from the University of Pennsylvania. Stacy’s dissertation topic, How Innovative Strategies Can Impact Fiscal Strength: Supporting a Culture of Innovation at Small Colleges, is a potential best practices list for small colleges interested in using innovative strategies to become financially solid while improving the student experience. Stacy holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Antioch University, McGregor and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications & Rhetoric from the University of Pittsburgh.
