Award-winning author Elizabeth Suneby will discuss the realities of 69 million school-aged children prohibited from the fundamental right of an education.
Through her book, Razia’s Ray of Hope: One Girl’s Dream of an Education, Suneby introduces the reader to the brave students and teachers at Kabul’s Zabuli Education Center, which now educates 400 girls in a village where girls have never gone to school.
Its founder, CNN Hero Razia Jan, believes that educating the next generation of girls is essential for peace and prosperity.
Suneby will lead an engaging, interactive presentation with videos and activities. The Khaled Hosseini Foundation adopted her book in their work with elementary and middle schools, and developed curriculum for them — available for free at: sos4tkhf.com/lesson-plans.php.
