Since completing his PhD in History at Brown University in 2008, Matthew Dunne has taught courses on history, politics and geography at Bay Path University, MCPHS University, Stonehill College, and the University of Rhode Island. His first book, "A Cold War State of Mind: Brainwashing and Postwar American Society," was published by the University of Massachusetts Press in 2013, and he is currently working on a project that examines the history and perception of Autism Spectrum Disorder in the United States. In his classes, Professor Dunne utilizes student-centered teaching methodologies that encourage students to engage with big ideas, help students develop and hone their critical thinking and writing skills, and nurture students' ability to become empathetic and analytical observers of the past and the present.
