Karol Jackowski

Karol Jackowski is a writer, writing coach, and former nun who left the Sisters of the Holy Cross and became part of the Sisters for Christian Community, an independent, self-governing sisterhood. Her books include Forever and Ever, Amen: Becoming a Nun in the Sixties; The Silence We Keep: A Nun’s View of the Catholic Priest Scandal; Sister Karol’s Book of Spells and Blessings; Ten Fun Things to Do Before You Die (translated into Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and German); Divine Madness: Why I Still Want to be a Nun; and the cookbooks Let the Good Times Roll and Home on the Range.

She has been profiled and her work reviewed in Rosie magazine, People magazine, The Star Ledger (Newark), ELLE (Italian Edition), The Journal News, The New York Post, and The New York Times. Her television appearances include guest spots on “The O’Reilly Factor,” “Speakeasy,” CNN, where she was interviewed by Soledad O’Brian, “The Early Show” (live Interview with Bryant Gumbel),WPXN-TV, “Eyewitness News Sunday Morning,” “Weekend Today,” and ABC-TV/She TV, among others. Karol lives in New York City and holds a PhD from NYU.
