Outside Scholarships
Scholarships received from your high school, community, or other organization are a great way to help finance your college education.
Be sure to let the Office of Student Financial Services know that you received these outside scholarships because all scholarships must be included as part of your financial aid profile for the academic year.

Verification of enrollment
Many organizations require a student to provide verification of their enrollment before sending the scholarship funds. If you need Bay Path College to verify your enrollment, please send a copy of the letter that indicates the address in which the form is to be mailed to:

Private Outside Scholarship Web Sites
We encourage students to apply for private/outside scholarships through various local and national companies and agencies. Here is a list of a few scholarship web sites with a brief description for you to review and determine if you are eligible to apply.
The Horace Smith Fund was established to help deserving students finance their education, and is available to local students who are graduates of Hampden County, Massachusetts secondary schools. Fellowship applicants must be residents of Hampden County or qualified former residents.
The Center for Student Opportunity (CSO) Opportunity Scholarship is a $1,000, four-year renewable scholarship awarded to first-generation, low-income, and/or minority high school seniors (class of 2010; entering the college class of 2014) enrolling at a four-year college or university
The Walmart Foundation - Several different scholarships are available, some for the general public, some for Wal-Mart Associates, and some for the families of Wal-Mart Associates. Scholarship amounts range from $1000 to 10,000.
FinAid! - Provides a comprehensive, annotated collection of information about student financial aid. Free and searchable by scholarships, loans, or other types of aid.
Win Scholarships - Includes advice about obtaining sports and merit scholarships, as well as financial aid and tuition reduction programs. Does not include a searchable database, however.
Go College - In addition to financial aid advice, provides information on distance learning, along with a feature that helps students find a school that is right for them. SAT and ACT test information as well.
CollegeNET - Free searchable databases for scholarships, colleges and financial aid, along with a link for applying to schools online.
The Scholarship Resource Network Express contains a database of over 8000 programs with a distribution level of over 150,000 awards for undergrad and postgraduate students.
FastWeb! - Free searchable database of local, national and college-specific scholarships, includes tips on how to apply, as well as information about obtaining internships.
The Community Foundation of Western Mass - Awards are made to residents of Western Massachusetts except as noted in the Scholarships and Loans section on the web site.
The National Italian American Foundation. Deadline of March 1 for the NIAF scholarship. Application and information can be found online. Also contains information about other scholarships administered by the NIAF. The NIAF scholarships are awarded for academic merit in two categories: Italian-American students who demonstrate outstanding potential and strong academic achievement (area of study: open), and those students from any ethnic background majoring or minoring in Italian language, Italian studies, Italian American studies or a related field, who demonstrate outstanding potential and high academic achievements.
Scholarships.com - Free comprehensive source of local and national scholarships. Search results match student needs. Sorts scholarships by deadline, dollar amount or relevancy.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund - To qualify for a HSF scholarship, students must be of Hispanic heritage, be a U.S. citizen, be enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program at a U.S. accredited and Title IV-eligible institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam, must apply for federal financial aid using FAFSA, and be completing their first undergraduate or graduate degree.
Scholarship America is a nonprofit, private sector scholarship and educational support organization. The “For Students” link at the top of the page connects students to numerous websites about the college process, including college selection, admissions and financial aid.
The AAUW Educational Foundation is one of the nation’s largest sources of private funding for educational programs that directly benefit women and girls. The foundations funds: groundbreaking research; fellowships and grants for outstanding women from around the globe; special awards; and vital community action projects.
The Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting is to support the advancement of women in the accounting profession through the funding of education, research, career literature, publications and other projects.
