Requirements

At Bay Path College, we are looking for international students who are ready to handle the rigor of a college education, have strong English ability, enjoy a challenge, and want to expand their horizons.

Required coursework

Candidates for admission must be enrolled in or have completed a solid college preparatory curriculum and at least:

  • Four years of English
  • Three years of mathematics
  • Three years of history or social science
  • Two to three years of science with a lab depending on your major

Recommended coursework

Although not required, we recommend that students also complete at least:

  • Two years of a foreign language
  • Computer classes
  • Speech or public speaking classes

For international students, minimum required scores on the TOEFL are 71 on the internet based test.

How we review your application

Our admissions committee evaluates all facets of your application starting with your high school transcripts. The types of classes you have completed as well as your academic performance are evaluated. We also consider your standardized test scores (SATs, ACTs, TOEFL or IELTS) and use your highest combination of scores when reviewing your application.

You are evaluated for admission as well as merit scholarships based on your high school GPA and standardized test scores, as we find these two pieces of information most important. We also evaluate experiences you have participated in outside of classes including clubs, activities, sports, volunteering, and employment opportunities. We also require international students to submit a financial statement demonstrating the students ability to cover out of pocket expenses for the first year at Bay Path College.

Although letters of recommendation and an essay are not required and have no bearing in a positive or negative way on the decision to admit you to Bay Path College, you are welcome to submit either or both. The Admissions and Scholarship Committees will use them to get to know you better.

English Language Partnership

We recommend the International Language Institute of Massachusetts (ILI) for students who meet admissions criteria, but need additional language training before starting their program at Bay Path College. ILI and Bay Path College have entered into a relationship which facilitates the acceptance and transfer of students. Bay Path College will grant conditional acceptance to students that have attended the International Language Institute and are recommended for study at Bay Path College. For more information, visit the ILI web site.
