Incoming Student Orientation
July 15 - 16
Our goal at Bay Path College is to ensure your transition from high school to college is a successful one. In addition to helping you feel at home as a first-year student, Incoming Student Orientation is designed to answer the many questions you and your parents may have regarding financial aid, work study, course selection, student life, health services and billing. You will meet new classmates and professors, select and/or confirm your course schedule, and begin new life-long friendships!

Financial Aid
Our student financial services staff is committed to giving you personalized attention and is here to help you in obtaining the necessary loans and scholarships to fund your education. Below are some helpful links:

Health Records Information
Because your health is important (and you never know when you may be sick) Bay Path has an on-campus health clinic where you can speak one-on-one with a registered nurse and an on-campus counseling center where we offer short-term individual and group counseling for a broad range of issues. The College’s Registered Nurse’s office is on the first floor of Theinert Hall. She is available by appointment and for emergency calls Monday through Friday. The College’s physician has weekly clinic hours by appointment and other specific dates and times to be announced.
The following health information is required prior to registration.
For your safety, and the health of the college community, we must have this information on file before you arrive on campus.

Living on Campus
Residence Halls
There are three residence halls on campus. Rooms are assigned first to returning students and next to new students, in the order in which their deposits are received.
General Information
Each residence hall has a Residence Director (RD), and each floor a Resident Assistant (RA's) that are generally from the upper classes. These people provide support and guidance by offering a friendly ear that will listen to you, or a sounding board that will help you work out issues or concerns.
Each residence hall has a kitchen for light cooking equipped with a stove, refrigerator and a microwave oven. All cooking must take place within the kitchen. Vending machines are located on the lower level in each residence hall for beverages and snacks.
There is a laundry room located in the lower level of each residence hall that is outfitted with front loading washers & dryers which is no cost to resident student.
Refrigerators should be no bigger than 4.2 cubic feet. No microwaves permitted but microfridges are allowed (microwave and refrigerator combination).

Resident Student Technology
Students who reside on campus have access to the following technology resources. Detailed information about accessing these services is available online through the CONNECT Portal.
High Speed Internet and Wireless Access

Internet Connection (high-speed) - The Internet connections at Bay Path are high-speed connections, equivalent to the high-speed connections currently being offered by many cable TV and telephone companies.

Wireless Internet Access - All dorm rooms are equipped with Wireless access. Using your PC in these buildings, you will find two available Wireless networks, Wildcat and BPGuest. The BPGuest network is available for public use and allows access to basic web browsing. All other services (e.g. AIM) are NOT available on the BPGuest network. Connection to the Wildcat network requires special configuration and a Bay Path College username and password. Instructions for connecting to the wireless network are available on the CONNECT Portal.
Television Service

Direct TV - Bay Path College provides the campus community with television service from Direct TV. The channel lineup offers a broad array of local, entertainment, news and sport programming options, including HBO, broadcast on all TVs connected to the campus network. To use Direct TV at Bay Path, students must have a cable-ready television and a standard coax connection cable. No special converters or adapters are needed to receive television service at Bay Path.
Parking on Campus
A parking fee of $300.00 per year will be charged to resident students who are selected for a parking space. Click here to complete the parking application form.
Resident Meal Plans
If you are a resident student you have the choice of two meal plans. The meal plans are described below. You are allowed to change meal plans during the first week of each semester by submitting a meal plan change form to the Business Office.

Unlimited Meal Plan: is the premier dining plan which allows you unlimited dining privileges in the Blake Dining Room during scheduled dining hours. Blake Dining Room is an all-you-can-to-eat dining facility. This plan includes $100 per semester that will be applied to your student ID to be used in the Carpe Diem Café as well as 8 guest meals per semester.

Flex 14 Meal Plan : The Flex 14 meal plan allows you to choose up to 14 meals per week in the Blake Dining Room.This plan includes $100 per semester that will be applied to your student ID to be used in the Carpe Diem Café as well as 8 guest meals per semester.
Please note: No refunds will be given on unused Campus Card dollars included with the meal plan. Any unused portion from the fall semester will be carried over and applied toward the spring semester, but will not be carried to the next academic year.
Food Services
Aramark is the College's food service provider. The Director of Food Services can assist students with questions or concerns. The Director's office is located on the first floor of the Blake Student Commons.
If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, please contact the Food Services Director before you move on to campus to discuss your individual needs at 413.565.1089.

Technology at BPC
Student Accounts
The Bay Path CONNECT Portal is a web-based resource for all students, staff, and faculty and provides a central link to important applications and information. This system can be accessed from any computer connected to the internet and includes entry to Google mail, Café Web (schedules, grades, billing, etc.), Angel Learning, and the E2Campus Emergency Notification System, to name a few.
Technology Requirement
To connect to the Bay Path network, your computer should meet the following minimum standards:
- 4 GB or more RAM memory recommended
- Operating System:
- PC users - Windows XP (Service Pack 3), Windows Vista, or Windows 7
- Mac users - OS X 10.6 or higher recommended
- Speakers and microphone
- Up to date Internet Explorer or Firefox web browser
- Microsoft Office 2007 or newer
- Up-to-date antivirus software (Microsoft Security Essentials, a free download, is recommended)
- Wi-Fi 802.11b or 10/100 Ethernet network adapter
- Extended Service Agreement from the computer manufacturer to cover repairs (Bay Path College does not provide computer repair services)
Computer Labs and Public Computers
The Information Technology Services Department supports instructional computing labs and public computer clusters. Computing Labs include classrooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 in D’Amour Hall, classroom 102 and 105 in Carr Hall, and the Bashevkin Academic Development Center in Catok. Computing Clusters are located in Blake Student Commons, Carr Hall, D’Amour Hall, and Hatch Library.
Student Computers
Make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements outlined in the “Technology Requirements” section.
- You should ensure your computer has an Ethernet network card installed. There is no charge for high speed Internet access through our network. You will also need to provide your own CAT5/6 cable to connect your computer to the wall mounted (wired) network jack. For laptops, you may take advantage of the campus wireless network.
- Ensure that all Windows Updates have been applied.
- Make sure your computer is in good working order and free of any viruses and spyware.
- The College will provide you with a free copy of our virus protection program (Sophos), which has a web based update that will work both on and off campus.
- Purchase an extended, onsite warranty from the computer’s manufacturer. Bay Path College does not troubleshoot or repair personal computers.
- Make sure to bring copies of all media disks (operating system, drivers, and applications) with you to campus (including product keys) in case a reinstall becomes necessary.

Fall semester bills will be mailed on June 1st and will be due on July 1st.
Spring semester bills will be mailed in the beginning of November.

Payment Plans: Tuition Management Systems, Inc. (TMS) is the College's payment plan administrator. TMS is an interest-free monthly payment program. It allows you to spread out all or part of your educational expenses. For more information regarding the payment plan or to sign up, call TMS at 1-800-722-4867 or visit the
TMS web site. TMS also accepts Visa and MasterCard payments.

Outside Scholarships:
If you are receiving scholarships from your high school or outside sources, please send a copy of the award letter to the Student Financial Services Office so the scholarship can be applied toward the bill.
