WELL 100: Women as Empowered Learners and Leaders

WELL 100 Women as Empowered Learners and Leaders

This 3-credit course is required of all first year students and introduces students to academics at Bay Path. The course is taught by a full-time faculty member who also serves as students’ academic advisor for the whole year. Further enriching the experience, a peer advisor (usually an upper class student) is assigned to each class section and will lead students in activities such as study groups and social activities.

Well 100 helps students identify their personal strengths and confirm educational plans and professional aspirations, and incorporates common readings and assignments across all sections. Moreover, the course reinforces skills learned in other classes (i.e., skills in research, writing, public speaking, analysis, synthesis), and culminates with end-of-semester symposium at which students offer research-based poster presentations regarding an issue that impacts women.
