National Science Foundation Scholars Program
Bay Path College is proud to announce the National Science Foundation Scholars Program, a Bay Path scholarship program designed to attract and retain students in the Biology, Biotechnology, Forensic Science or Biology Secondary Education programs. The NSF Scholars Program at Bay Path College will provide academic, scholarship, career and other financial support to undergraduate women who demonstrate academic potential or ability and financial need. The goal of the program is to increase the numbers and the academic success of women graduates prepared to pursue a broad range of careers in science to meet the growing demand in both our region and nation for a highly skilled workforce capable of applying its technological and scientific expertise strategically and with innovation.
Support will include scholarships ranging from $2,500 - $10,000, research assistantships and work study opportunities, group tutoring, book funding, mentoring by faculty members as well as professional and career development activities. The scholarship is open to prospective first-year and transfer students majoring in the sciences as well as current Bay Path College students. Minority women are encouraged to apply.
Scholarship Eligibility:
- Students must be enrolled full-time at Bay Path College in the Biology, Biotechnology, Forensic Science or Biology/Secondary Education programs.
- Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the National Science Foundation Scholars Program Application.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful nationals, refugees or permanent aliens as defined in the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act.
- Students must have at least a B/3.0 or equivalent grade point average in their high school or college experience.
- Applicants must write a brief personal essay of no more than 500 words addressing the following points. Keeping in mind the goal of the NSF Scholars Program as described above, please describe why you would like to be considered for this scholarship program. Include your career goals, relevant academic or work experience (including jobs held and hours worked during the academic year), any special recognition or awards related to the sciences as well as any other information you would like the review committee to consider.
