Head Coach: Steve Smith

Coach Smith is a 1985 graduate of St. John Fisher College with a B.A. in Psychology. He completed his M.Ed in Sport Management from Springfield College in 1988. He became the 1st softball coach in 1992 and has nearly a 100 victories since 1998 when the team became a NCAA member. Coach Smith has been a member of the NCAA New England Region Softball Ranking Committee since 1996, before that he was member of the New England Intercollegiate Softball Coaches Association (NEISCA) ranking committee for 3 years. He is also an active member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and NEISCA. Coach Smith lives in Longmeadow with his wife Sara and two children Katherine and Matthew.

“I am very excited to get the season started, this team will be the most talented team in recent years. Each year common team goals are simple and direct as a program; have some fun, finish with a winning record, make the conference tournament and find a winning and positive balance between the academic and athletic experience."

Pitching Coach and Assistant Head Coach: Larry Nault

Pitching coach and assistant head coach Larry Nault comes to Bay Path with 20 years of softball coaching experience, including four years as a high school coach and four years as a college coach. For seven years he was the West team coach for the Massachusetts Bay State Games. Coach Nault is a cooperative-style coach who believes in utilizing player input and feedback.

"Athletes at the college level are capable of motivating themselves and their teammates. Positive energy yields positive results. The sports program at Bay Path College are designed to provide positive experiences for all of its student-athletes."
