Internships and Co-ops

Bay Path College student at her internshipPractical Experience. Practical Education.

Whether you’re editing a video, conducting a science experiment, working at an insurance company, or creating a recreation rehabilitation program for an elderly patient, you’ll be learning by doing. It’s another way of saying “you’re learning on the job.” At Bay Path, students in all majors are required to do an internship, field work, or practicum, in order to graduate. The College also offers a co-op program that matches you with a company or an organization. As a co-op student, you work full-time gaining valuable work experience for your resume, potential job placement after graduation, and networking opportunities, while also getting paid.

Increasingly, employers are looking for people with experience. With programs such as these, you are able to build your resume or portfolio giving you that needed edge to get that first job or go on to graduate school. It not only puts you ahead of the competition, it also gives you confidence to know this is the direction you want to go in your life, and it makes you a stronger candidate in the interview process.

Here is just a sampling of some of the places Bay Path students have gained their practical experience: FBI, MassMutual Financial Group, Massachusetts State Crime Lab, Amnesty International, Walt Disney World, CT Office of the Attorney General, and Department of Social Services (MA).
