Honors Program
The Honors Program at Bay Path provides academically talented and motivated students with uniquely challenging and intellectually stimulating educational opportunities. In the first two years, Honors students take team-taught, interdisciplinary seminars on specific topics, such as Darwin Across the Disciplines. This innovative approach broadens your exposure to areas outside your major while making connections with other Honors students. In the last two years, under the guidance of a faculty mentor, you are immersed in your field of study, and you are urged to explore new areas of knowledge with an Honors thesis or creative project.
Honors Program Requirements
To maintain good standing in the Honors Program, students are required to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 at the end of each academic year, complete designated courses and take part in two community service projects each year.
A sampling of community service projects include:
- Serving lunch and dinner to the homeless at the Loaves and Fishes Center
- Coordinating the collection of food packages for the Emergency Food Pantry
- Volunteer at the Berkshire Hills Music Academy, a school for challenged yet musically gifted young people
