WELL: Women as Empowered Learners and Leaders

Women-focused. Purposeful leadership. Global, multi-cultural perspectives. Social awareness. Confidence and conviction.

These are just some of the words that describe the WELL Program—a program that will help you take ownership of your life and change how you will see the world. From your first year to senior year, you’ll be part of a shared learning and community experience that weaves together WELL courses, College events, community service, career preparation, and leadership skills.

Helping you on your journey of discovery will be the annual campus theme, based on the College’s annual Women’s Leadership Conference. As part of the theme, the entire Bay Path community participates in a host of events, lectures, class assignments, and special activities--sparking discussion and interconnections.

For 2011-2012, the campus theme will be “The Power of Choice”.

The Campus Theme Essay Contest: Read the Winning Entries

A collaborative effort between the Campus Theme (this year it is the "Power of Choice") and writing programs here at Bay Path, the first annual Campus Theme Essay Contest encouraged Bay Path students to reflect on the power of choice, and its impact on women. Combining sound logic and strong writing technique, student writers shared their voices regarding how the power of choice, or the lack of choice, has influenced them and other women.

This year, we honor two student writers:

  • First place: Stephanie Belsen '14
"Women and the Legal Profession: Why We Should Have Taken Over Already."  CLICK HERE to read
  • Second place: Saquoia Cox '15
"Empowered Leaders Lighting the Path to the Future."  - CLICK HERE to read
