“To work in a counseling center has been a career goal of mine for as long as I can remember. When it came time for me to begin my college search, I wanted a college that gave me more than the typical coursework; I wanted experience. At Bay Path, I have chances not only to gain real-world experience, but to make a difference in the lives of others.

At the beginning of my sophomore year, a professor nominated me for a paid internship. When I was selected to work side-by-side with a Bay Path alumna at New Directions, a nearby counseling and training center, it was the hands-on practice I had craved. At New Directions, I began putting the knowledge and skills I had learned in the classroom and applying them to the workplace by meeting with client groups and developing ways to help them with their problems. My internship was life-changing and confirmed in me the type of career I wanted. Before my position with New Directions was over, they offered me a part-time job!

This year, I’ll graduate Bay Path with my bachelor’s degree in psychology, and I’m already a full-time clinical case manager for New Directions. The College and my professors have given me unbelievable opportunities to succeed, and I can’t wait to see where the future takes me.”
