Trecia Marchand
“As a junior manager in the financial services field, I set my sights on climbing the ladder within the organization. However, I often wondered if I would run into a roadblock on my professional path because I didn’t have a college education. I decided to put my life on the fast track when I read a brochure about the One-Day-A-Week Saturday College—an innovative program that would allow me to continue being a caring mother, a loving daughter, and a successful financial professional while I pursued my dream of a higher education.
From the moment I arrived on campus for my first course, I found a remarkable support system within the Bay Path community, and I was overcome with a sense of empowerment, knowing this was where I belonged. From public speaking and collaboration to understanding the financial health of an organization, Bay Path taught me how to become a better leader. At Bay Path, you’re treated as a person and a priority, not a number, and I have received a first-rate education, enabling me to compete in the ever-changing workplace.
I entered Bay Path on one career plateau and through my hard work, drive, and a college education, I achieved the next level in my professional path while still in the One-Day program. Today, I’m in a senior management position with a local financial institution, where I can help other people achieve their full potential, motivate individuals, and help to bring a vision to reality, much like the One-Day program did for me. The One-Day program continues to hold a place near and dear to my heart. It has made a difference, giving me new perspectives on my career, education, and life.”
