Karen Soly

Karen Soly“When I first step foot in the Billerica Memorial High School as a paraprofessional, I knew I could make a difference in the lives of children with special needs. As I grew to enjoy my new role, I sought a college degree program that would further my career. However, the program had to be accelerated, close to home, and offer a balance between family, work, and my education. I found all three in the One-Day-A-Week Saturday College at Bay Path College’s Burlington Campus.

My Bay Path support system of peers is incredible. As working mothers, we understand the demands of family and work, which are placed on each one of us. Bay Path is also providing me with a high quality college education with intense, more involved courses to immediate special education knowledge I can apply with my students in the classroom. The Bay Path administration and faculty are extremely accommodating, yet challenge us every Saturday to accomplish our goals.”

- Karen hopes to continue working with students at Billerica Memorial High School once she receives her bachelor’s degree. Following graduation, she will complete her special education practicum as she pursues her graduate degree in education/special education at Bay Path’s Burlington Campus.
