Animation Matters!

8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
July 6-10, for young women entering grades 6, 7, and 8.
August 3-7, for young women in high school.

A morning, week-long, introductory program that will teach students the basics of digital animation.

  • Do you want to learn to use Maya, a high-end 3D computer graphics and 3D modeling software package used to create digital games and films?
  • Drawing skills are NOT needed, just PATIENCE, humor, and keen observation.

If you are interested in learning how movies like Wall-E and Ratatouille were made and want to hang with girls your own age, this ½ day program is for you.

Students will begin with a simple ‘ball bounce’, and if so inclined, will finish with character animation. We will work in the computer lab, and for the ambitious, Animation Matters! will supply thumb drives for storage, allowing students to take their animations home to work on as well. Information about competing with your animations will also be provided.

Gather some skills before you go back to school, and have some extra ‘bling’ to shine up your college or high school application!
