07.02.2009

LONGMEADOW, Mass.— Bay Path College recently presented Briana Sitler of Longmeadow with the Bay Path Young Alumni Award during the College’s annual Alumni Day celebration on June 6, 2009. The honor, which recognizes an alumna from the last 10 Bay Path classes, was presented to Sitler for her outstanding service to the College and her promise as a leader.

As an undergraduate in Bay Path’s One-Day-A-Week Saturday College, Sitler served as a mentor to her classmates and was a member of the Maroon Key Honor Society. For nearly 20 years, Sitler worked as an event planner for Sun Life, formerly part of Phoenix Insurance Group. Today, she serves as Bay Path’s Director of Special Programs and as the College’s community coordinator and spokesperson for the Kaleidoscope series. She is also responsible for the many summer programs held at Bay Path for girls and women

“From devising schedules, to researching potential presenters, Briana is responsible for making sure that arts, culture and relevant topics of interest remain a vital part of community life for both Bay Path and the greater Springfield area,” said Bay Path President Carol A. Leary.

In addition to her involvement at Bay Path, Sitler is the mother of two children, and plays an active role in their education. She has served as a parent volunteer at their school, as a peer mediator in elementary schools, and a family mediator at the Center for Human Development.
