Students Raise Funds, and Awareness, With "Bay Path Village"

04.16.2008

In an effort to raise awareness of homelessness and poverty, Bay Path College students and faculty will be building and living in a mock habitat village on the Bay Path campus on Friday, April 18. The “Bay Path Village” will be a fundraiser for the campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity and will include information about a real village in Nicaragua where Habitat is currently building houses and fighting homelessness. The “Bay Path Village” will be a fundraiser for the campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity, with a goal of sending a delegation of Bay Path students to the same Nicaraguan village to participate in an international building project during spring break next year.

The village will be open all weekend and the public is invited to stop by to learn about homelessness, Habitat for Humanity, and support the Bay Path students in their efforts to help people throughout the world lead lives of comfort and dignity.
