LONGMEADOW, MA—Maestro Kevin Rhodes, Music Director and Conductor of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra brings his electric personality and passion for classical music from the podium to the lecture hall with Rhodes Talk. Partnering with Bay Path College, he’ll be holding a free, three-part series on the Longmeadow campus that takes on the giants of the musical world, as well as the dramatic world of opera.
Maestro Rhodes will kick-off the series with “The Young & The Brilliant,” an interactive discussion of two classical music titans: Mendelssohn and Mozart, and will welcome the brilliant young violinist Caroline Goulding.

The next lecture, “It’s Opera!” will focus on the fun, fantastical and dramatic world of opera. It’s a musical form that has spanned continents and generations, entertaining a legion of fans from all corners of the globe.

The last in the Rhodes Talk series is “Making a Death Mass Fun.” Members of the Springfield Symphony Chorus along with Director Nikki Stoia join Kevin Rhodes on stage, as he explores Mozart’s towering final work, the Requiem, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5.
