But there’s more than cowboys (including THE Dallas Cowboys), oil, and country music in the Lone Star State. Did you know that

- the King Ranch in Texas is bigger than the state of Rhode Island
- it was an independent nation from 1836 to 1845
- and Austin is known as the live music capital of the world
