Counselor in Training

C.I.T. stands for Counselor in Training. Between the ages of 13 and 16, a C.I.T. is too old to be a camper, but not old enough to be a full time counselor.

A C.I.T. is the right hand to the counselors. Working alongside the counselors, C.I.T.s are given the responsibility of assisting in the supervision of campers ages 5-12 and helping to provide a fun and safe experience for all. C.I.T.s are expected to participate in and help facilitate all camp activities, care for and supervise campers as they move from one activity to the next and set a positive example for the campers. They learn leadership skills.

C.I.T.s should be enthusiastic and energetic but also responsible. A desire to work with children and strong communication skills—with both children and adults—are a must. Prior experience in child care or with Go Girls is preferred but not required.

How being a C.I.T. can help you:

  • Gain experience working with and supervising children
  • Create connections with local parents for babysitting opportunities
  • Learn to work collaboratively
  • Recommendations from directors for future employment and volunteer opportunities

Fee per week per CIT is $75.00.
