 Breakout Session D:

Dave YellePersonality and Your Potential - How Understanding Your Personality Can Enhance Your Career Growth
David Yelle

What makes you unique, sets you apart, helps or hinders you on the job, and often serves as the basis for how others view you? Your personality! Throughout your career, managers, coworkers and subordinates make decisions that affect your career based on the personality traits you use while at work. In this session, we will use the Predictive Index (PI) to take an in-depth look at your core personality. We will explore how your personality combined with your career choice may influence your job satisfaction and performance. PI will also help us to examine the impact of others’ perceptions of us and how it relates to career growth and personal development.

Note: By participating in this breakout session, you will be asked via e-mail to complete a 5 minute, Internet-based survey. Your personal and confidential results will be provided for you at the session. This survey is an integral part of the session and should be completed in a timely fashion.

David Yelle is the director of student success and retention at Bay Path College. He holds a master’s degree in Human Resource Development, and is certified in the use of the Predictive Index (PI), a behavioral assessment tool. David currently teaches a first-year leadership class at Bay Path College where he uses the PI to develop and enhance students' leadership potential, as well as help students identify and focus on career opportunities. He has also been successful implementing the tool in a less traditional setting in his role as one of the most successful high school girls’ basketball coaches in Western Massachusetts Division I history.
